Why Cuby Is My Go-To Pouch for Easy Handmade Gifts

Last weekend, I met my old college friends, and I was really looking forward to it. I’m very much an introvert and the kind of person who waits for the delivery courier to leave before opening the door. But when it comes to friends, I love listening to their stories more than talking.

Since it was almost Christmas, I wanted to bring something small and thoughtful as a gift. And because I’m also someone who tends to postpone sewing projects until the deadline (LOL, I hope I’m not alone), I needed something I could make in bulk without stress.

After looking through my own patterns and YouTube tutorials, I realized Cuby was the perfect choice. It used very little fabric, was practical and useful, and most importantly, it was fast to finish. The kind of project you can sew multiple times without feeling overwhelmed.

If you’re looking for a quick, beginner friendly handmade gift, you can find the Cuby Pouch pattern on my website and in my Etsy. Wherever you prefer to shop, I hope Cuby makes your sewing and gifting a little easier.

Currently Obsessed: Tiny Pouches as Keychains

Lately I’ve been obsessed with tiny pouches, the kind you hang on your bag and call it “practical” when really it’s just cute chaos.

When I was in China a few months ago, my bag had three keychains hanging from it: Lulu, Delia, and some random tutorial I made for YouTube (lol, I didn’t even have time to name that one). They were hanging like little travel buddies.

I’m that person who takes a ton of photos when traveling. Some people go for the food or culture, but me? I always empty my gallery before a trip to have thousands of new photos within a week.

I usually stash random things inside those pouches: receipts from shopping, roll-on therapy oil (yep, I’m officially old), and all the little stuff I’m too lazy to dig out of my main bag. It’s my way of staying organized… kind of.

So yes, I’m definitely in my mini pouch phase right now. And honestly? I’m not planning to stop anytime soon.

My First Hobby!

When I was a kid, if people asked what my hobby is, I DEFINITELY answered "Drawing!"
Well, that is the only hobby I had. Now, I have a lot of hobbies (or perhaps, interests), such as Origami, friendship bracelets, plushies, knitting, crochet and anything about handmade!

I never tell people how I can love drawing so much. When I was a kid, my sisters and I loved to watch cartoons on TV at the early morning on Sunday. You know, it was so DIFFICULT to wake me up for school, but it was easy to wake me up for cartoon!

My big sis once tried to draw characters from Doraemon. There are Nobita, Shizuka, Suneo, Takeshi (Giant), Dekisugi, etc. I observed her activity and tried to duplicate it.
I even tried to make comics. Finally, I found it is more interesting to draw than to think about the story for my comics. I drew the picture below when I was in Junior High School.

Look how bad it was!

After I got a lot of "experience", I tried to colour my drawings. I coloured the picture below when I was in Junior High School too.

And so on... Now, I prefer to draw Fan Art (artwork that is based on a character, costume, item, or story that was created by someone other than the artist).
Among many of my Fan Arts, I love these arts very much! I don't know why...

Kouyama Mitsuki and Takuto Kira from Full Moon wo Sagashite
(17th October 2007)

Minamino Maria and Minamino Neoru from Minto na Bokura
(22nd December 2009)

I admit it, those are only Fan Arts, but I still love 'em!
