Women’s Peak Cap from The Crochet Crowd

I crocheted another hat for Alice.

Tutorial below was modified from the link above, I was using a 3.5mm crochet hook.


Note: Ch 2 at beg of rnd does not count as st.

Beg at crown, ch 3. Join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.

1st rnd: Ch 3. 8 dc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3 (9 sts)

2nd rnd: Ch 2. 2 dcfp (18 sts)

3rd rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, dcfp, dc in sp* (27 sts)

4th rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, dc in sp, dcfp, dc* (36 sts)
5th rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, dc, dcfp, 2dc* (45 sts)

6th rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, 2dc, dcfp, dc, dc* (54 sts)

7th rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, dc, dc, dcfp, 2dc, dc* (63 sts)
8th rnd: Ch 2. *dcfp, 2dc, dc, dcfp, dc, dc, dc* (72 sts)

9th rnd: Ch 1. *sc* (72 sts)

10th rnd: Ch 2. *3 dcfp around dcfp 2 rows below. Miss next sc. 1 dc in next sc. Miss next sc.*


11th rnd: As 9th rnd.
12th rnd: Sl st in next st. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss next sc. 3 dcfp around dc 2 rows below. Miss next sc. *1 dc in next sc. Miss next sc. 3 dcfp around dc 2 rows below. Miss next sc.* Join with sl st to top of ch 3.

13th rnd: As 9th rnd.
14th rnd: Sl st in each of next 2 sts. Ch 3 (counts as dc). Miss next sc. 3 dcfp around dc 2 rows below. Miss next sc. *1 dc in next sc. Miss next sc. 3 dcfp around dc 2 rows below. Miss next sc.* Join with sl st to top of ch 3.


Rep 13th and 14th rnds (with the total of eight)

Band: 1st and 2nd rnds: Ch 1. 1 sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. Do not fasten off.

Brim: Beg working in rows: 1st row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 50 sc. Turn. Leave rem sc unworked.

2nd to 10th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
